A FOUR-STORY, 203,500 SF URBAN CONCEPT STORE INCORPORATING 102,000 SF OF RETAIL/ OFFICE SPACE WITH A TWO-LEVEL, 215-CAR GARAGE ABOVE
This unique building responds to the opportunities and limitations of a rare 1.24-acre site in Lincoln Park. The first two-story store of its kind for Home Depot, all required parking is located above the store and is fully screened from view. Precast exterior walls and superstructure were utilized to expedite scheduling and facilitate construction at this infill site. With extensive amounts of floor-to-ceiling glass that visually weaves together the sales area and the activity of the urban street, this contemporary, urban structure has a landmark presence in the neighborhood. ARCHIDEAS is the architect of record on this design/build project, working collaboratively on the design with JDL Development of Chicago.
