INTERIOR RENOVATION TO CREATE A 32,800 SF CORPORATE HEADQUARTERS
With their existing office space adjacent to their plant and warehouse facilities in an industrial neighborhood, this corporate headquarters had grown into every available nook and cranny on multiple floors over time. Recognizing the need to attract and retain talented employees while also improving the efficiency of their office space, leadership at A.M. Castle embarked on a mission to reposition their headquarters to a single floor in a more upscale locale, while also embracing a transformation to an open and collaborative office environment. Relocating to a building with a pin-wheel floor plan, the core of this suite contains the Boardroom, meeting and training rooms, and a café as well as other common areas, thereby leaving workstations as the only elements that occupy the wide-open, light filled wings of the building. With the main reception area accessed via a dramatic building atrium, and a centralized “Main Street” linking the wings of the office, all internal circulation throughout this space is organized along the exterior window line so everyone may benefit from this shared amenity.
